A co-organizer for the China International Auto Parts Expo 2008 (CIAPE), SAE International, as part of its comprehensive participation plan, will organize and present a special Executive Powertrain Panel. This two-hour program will feature senior-level leaders at prominent powertrain companies/organizations from around the world discussing the latest technologies in this field.

A second special SAE event will address trends in the automotive industry, presented by Mr. Neil Schilke, Managing Director of the Automotive Resources Institute (ARi), an SAE International affiliate organization. Mr. Schilke will discuss new and advanced technologies and trends that are impacting the global automotive OEM marketplace. By understanding the long term trends and how they affect the supply chain, attendees gain insight to positioning their companies for future success in the global marketplace.

Both the powertrain panel and trends session will feature simultaneous translation and each will be followed by an audience Question & Answer session.

At CIAPE, SAE will showcase its many offerings developed specifically for the China automotive supply market including the new SAE Supplier Technology Excellence Program (STEP), designed to help automotive supply companies with product innovation, the acquisition of technology, and global competitiveness. In cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), SAE will honor the charter STEP participants at a luncheon ceremony. This is a prime networking opportunity for invited guests to meet informally with SAE technical experts and STEP participants and a chance to learn more about STEP.

SAE will also have a booth at CIAPE featuring a special display on SAE standards. Here, attendees can learn more about the many programs, products and resources of SAE.

CIAPE will take place on November 12-15, 2008 in Beijing, China at the China International Exhibition Center.
